​The archaeological zone of Xunantunich is located on the Mopan River, very close to San Ignacio, Belize. The main nucleus occupies around three hundred square meters, where there are six squares and 26 structures between residences and temples. The main building called the castle (structure A-6) is around 40 meters high. This site is located in the classical period. Thomas Gann was one of the first to explore the site in 1894.​

La Venta the Olmec Sculpture Park, Palenque, Tonina, Pomona, Bonampak, Lacanja River, Nueva Palestina, Yaxchilan, Campeche, Edzna, Balamku, Xpuhil, Becan, Chicanna, Calakmul, Rio Bec, Hormiguero, Kohunlich, & Dzibanche.

FUNDESA strives to contribute to comprehensive sustainable & democratic development within a market regulated economy aware of the importance for Guatemalan communities from El Petén  and have a sound methodology for sustainable development and conservation of natural areas. Gerardo collaborated for several weeks touring the state of Quintana Roo, in order to meet success stories of rural communities and exchange  experiences based on sustainable development and conservation of natural areas as well as community ecotourism projects, besides learn local handcrafts and marketing projects adding technical and legal aspects of tourism management in communities
